Opening hours
March - October: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
November - February: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Open throughout the year. Leaving the museum is possible up to 1 hour after the ticket office closes!
Helmut Ottenjann-Halle (permanent exhibition of agricultural machinery): March to October daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and from November to February daily from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Arkenstede Castle is open from March to October from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from November to February daily 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Please note that due to weather conditions repains individual buildings may be closed.
On 24.12. and on 31.12. the museum village remains closed.

Smoking ban
Smoking is generally prohibited on the entire site of the museum village, with the exception of the terrace of the Dorfkrug and designated smoking areas. Because of the increased risk of fire, special care is required in the area. The smoking ban also applies to all special events and days of action.
Terrain
Please note that extra caution is required in the grounds and the houses. Due to weather conditions and terrain, it can become slippery (especially during the winter months).
Access for the disabled
The museum village is conditionally handicapped accessible! Some exhibitions and houses are not accessible with a wheelchair! If you have any questions, the museum staff is always at your disposal.
Handicapped persons and wheelchair-users may can get off at the bus stop "Höltinghauser Straße". From here it is only a few meters to the entrance in the Münchhausen barn. Unfortunately vehicles may not park there.
